Your 12 Step Blueprint to the Ultimate Glow Up this year

If there were a struggle bus job opening listed on indeed… I would get the position to be the driver of that bus.

Hi, I’m a millennial female just like you juggling the never end mounds of laundry, piling dishes, endless to-do lists, school, work and business, family, friends & relationships… I understand having to turnaround after all that and still finding time for nutrition, self-care, fitness and me-time… ahhhh! How do these influencers with the 25 step morning routine do it? It all feels… like a constant state of anxiety…The lack of time, and feeling lost in all the conflicting health information out there…gosh. The struggle bus is a dumpster fire and I’m driving it with a flat tire. Ugh… is that you too? Cause you’re not alone!

I’m the type of person who feels personally attacked by my fitness watch when it tells me to stand up… why? Because… It’s not wrong. Can you relate? Getting up and finding the motivation, or energy or time to do anything related to your health can feel overwhelming.

But in this blog post I’m going to share with you the 12 steps I took to find order in the chaos. To find some zen in the shitstorm that is life and get my ish together & how you can too.

THE SECRET TO WEIGHT LOSS & ACTUAL TRANSFORMATION

I want my ish together by 5pm tomorrow just like the next girl. Still, when I talk about getting my shit together, yes I want to lose 15 lbs in a week and magically have a new dresser full of cute clothes I like and that fit… but the reality of it is that it takes time, effort and it’s more than just the number on the scale. Who doesn’t want to lose 15lbs in a week and keep it off? The millennial brain who’s been suckered into thinking the only beauty ideal is to be thin is ingrained in our minds… but it’s toxic culture and we’re canceling that subscription today.

Your Get-Your-Shit-Together journey is more about how you feel in your body. Your thoughts, your habits, your mindset and your routines. You’ll find that weight loss is a byproduct of these combined tools and not the opposite way around where we think by losing weight our lives will suddenly be together. Shit is still shit even if it doesn’t smell. It’s not about masking or hiding or pretending but building the structure and foundation that give us the life we want.

So, if this sounds like you… if you want to lose weight, feel better mentally & emotionally, and feel less like a trash panda in your dumpster fire of life then keep reading because you need these 12 steps to get your ish together in 2025.

This blueprint is the exact process I used to lose 20lbs, balance my cortisol, master my stress,  gain energy and confidence… So much confidence actually that I moved across the country, became a personal trainer and fitness coach, started a business, and turned my knowledge into a course to help you lose that weight and step into the person you’ve always wanted to become. It’s more than a weight loss program, its a program to guide you to being your best self in all areas of your life.

Okay, so we’ve established that our ish could probably be better together in more ways than one. So, how do you go about implementing change that will actually lead to results? We follow a blueprint.

We design a goal with our desired outcome in mind and then build a foundation of habits, routines and tools that are most likely to help us aim toward that outcome.

  1. Goals & visualization.

To begin any kind of program you have to have an aim first, aka a goal. & it can’t be some spaghetti-thrown-at-the-wall kind of goal like “get toned or tone up”. You have to be so specific that there aren’t any questions as to what you’re working towards. You have to know you want it & know why you want it. What does it give your life?

2. Nutrition

Not only for longevity but maintenance of your mood, and your ability to function and think like an actual adult. How else are we to do this thing called “adulting” if we’re living off of Cheetos and double-stuffed Oreos? We need nourishment, vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates for crying out loud.

3. Stress Management

I know that being a millennial comes with this constant feeling of imposed doom. Like we’ve lived through many supposed apocalypses already, stress sort of feels like it’s just attached to our existence at this point. But, what if I told you we can separate from our stress at least to some degree so we can get our health in order and balance that pesky hormone we call cortisol. We don’t need to feel like our lives are ending by sending an email or making a phone call. Ya know? BE THE CHANGE you want to see, you can change!

4. Hormones & Metabolism

Being diagnosed with PCOS has changed my mindset around hormones & metabolism. Its a complex universe with a multifaceted cascade of events, kind of like society? It affects everyone differently and understanding some major hormones & how they affect you body plays a key role in being able to accelerate your weight loss efforts and decrease your chance of disease.

5. Body Image & Self Love

This step holds a near and dear place in my heart because it was a battle I fought for most of my life. You can discover something about yourself that you love & if its not your body, especially at the beginning of your journey then that’s okay. You don’t have to join the fake positivity gang where you just say you love yourself but you don’t. Body neutrality is also a thing and there are steps you can take to stop, stopping when you pass a mirror to pick yourself a part. It takes effort & work, but the best thing you can do to show yourself some actual love, accept your body image & your relationship to yourself is to get healthy.

6. Food & Emotional Eating Behaviors

This step is superrrr important not only to understand but also to embody. It’s one thing to know about emotional and binge eating, its another to practice not doing it. Having a hormone imbalance myself, I know how hard it is when your body just doesn’t register that it’s full. That’s when self-awareness is crucial to have because you have to learn to be sensitive to your body and feel small changes in it. That’s what this step is all about.

7. Sleep

Okaaaay, everyone knows how important sleep is. But do you know that it actually affects your hormones and your hunger too? Sleep isn’t just laying down and shutting your eyes, sleep is when your body recovers and has time to process. Also, studies have come out and shown that women actually need more than the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep… it’s more like 9-10 hours. Even one night of 5-6 hours of sleep can cause symptoms of sleep deprivation that lasts days. Its so so so important for the other aspects of your life to get your sleep dialed in.

8. Exercise & movement

Exercise can be more than going to the gym. Yes going to the gym 3-4 times a week is majorly important in building muscle mass and contributing to calorie deficits but exercise can also happen outside of the gym. That’s what this step focuses on… how to make your lifestyle as active as possible. This goes as far as creating workout plans, logging your workouts, & creating opportunities for movement, etc.

9. Self-Care & Morning Rituals

This does not have to be a complex theatrical showcase of rid light masks, and 12 step skin-care routines…although if you do those things I think that’s fine. It’s just not 100% necessary. It’s mostly about doing things you enjoy, a hobby, a playful game or entertaining activity that sparks joy and creativity. It’s about nourishing your soul and going beyond the bubble baths, but don’t get me wrong I myself love me a good bubble bath and sugar scrub. How can you fit those things into your day? Ya know? How can you align your day to allow you to nurture yourself in ways that satisfy the soul.

10. Social Wellbeing

Human beings are social creatures… why I have no idea. I myself, am a hermit of an introvert & love staying home and being with myself. Anyone else? No, but seriously even us introverts need some serious love & affection from others. That’s where this step plays in, with helping you to understand the 5 love languages and become the best partner, friend or sister that you can be.

11. Happiness & Gratitude

There are actual studies that correlate happiness and health with longevity. The happier you are, the less likely you are to catch disease, depression, anxiety, other ailments, etc. This step is all about finding happiness and learning to feel gratitude amongst what you have now and not what you don’t.

12. Celebration & Momentum

Gaining momentum for the future and celebrating what you’ve accomplished… This step all about reflecting on your experiences and going beyond the 12 steps to maintain a life you love long term.

These 12 steps can give you a solid foundation to create a life you love. A life that doesn’t include being a dumpster fire trash panda but instead a glowing phoenix rising from the ashes of said dumpster fire.

It’s easy to think that the only way to lose weight is to go to the gym and workout, eat less calories and deprive yourself. That’s half the reason why people aren’t successful when they go on these weight loss journeys by themselves. Although exercise and a calorie deficit is necessary to lose weight, there are so many other aspects that also play a role in your ability to lose weight. That’s why I designed The Get Up & Glow Up Accelerator to touch on it all. So that the likelihood of you being successful is the highest that it can be.

You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Join me in The Get Up & Glow Up Accelerator where we’ll work together to create your glow-up journey—on your terms
